The next dsy tbey w a vessel on tho shoals, and ran down and boarded her; found that she w as the same vessel they had spoken the day before, but that there was no one 00 her; the sails were all set, and an anchor dropped, but the anchor chala had been unshackeled and the end fastened to a rope that would have broken had the ship pulled on it. The pilots started to Smithville to get a tug. and on the way met the Blanch towing a vessel out. Two of the pilots went 00 board the IiUmeXi and reported the matter, whea the Diai.4 ran down to tbe barque, took her ia tow and brought her into Smilhvillr. Tbe cs pialn of the Spaniard bad gone ahoreat tho Life-Saving Station, where he told the men that he and hie crew bad to abandon the barque to tare their lives. He had with him the erasers compass, charts and papers, and all his personal effects and those of the crew. Tbe pilots deny that they prevented the master from boarding the vessel after her arrival at Smithville, saying that he never offered lo do so.
